Loyola Alumnus Tom P. Daly, II '92 Selected to Receive Alden "Doc" Laborde Ethical Entrepreneurship Award

Tom P. Daly

The Loyola University New Orleans College of Business has selected Tom P. Daly, II '92 as this year's recipient of the Alden "Doc" Laborde Award for Ethical Entrepreneurship, an award given to an individual who embodies such talents and virtues and is motivated not by wealth but by the desire to respond to human needs and cultural challenges.

After graduating from Jesuit High School in 1988, Tom Daly accepted the Presidential Scholarship to attend Loyola University of New Orleans – completing the honors curriculum and graduating in 1992. While at Loyola, Tom was active in Greek life, President of the College of Business, and a member of the Student Government Association's Executive Board. Upon graduation, Tom served as a Young Alumni Representative to the Board.

After graduation, Tom began his professional career in the financial services industry – working for major, national insurance companies like Allstate and Prudential before starting his own employee benefits agency and HR consulting practice in 2001. He grew this practice significantly over the years – leaning into technology, personalized communication, and high-touch service as a differentiator. The agency he built allowed him to work with hundreds of employer groups across the country, helping them to attract and retain key employees and driving efficient administrative operations.

In 2018, he sold his agency to NFP, a leading property and casualty broker, benefits consultant, wealth manager, and retirement plan advisor. He has stayed with NFP and currently manages NFP’s Louisiana-based operation. This allows him to bring a full suite of national products and resources to benefit local employer clients.

He is still passionate about technology, employment, and creating operational efficiencies. He volunteers his time and resources to support a number of local nonprofits – always looking for ways to leverage his unique skills to help these organization to achieve their mission.
