What is academic advising?
Academic advising engages students in educational and career planning that will help them move successfully through the college journey. It teaches students to become members of the university community and to think critically about their roles and responsibilites as students.

Intentional advising helps students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to take full responsibility for completing a program consistent with their educational and professional aspirations. Faculty serve as the primary academic advisors for students in collaboration with professional staff advisors across campus.
